I did pull requests for the main page changes I proposed.

Following the "community cloud" link on the main page I will propose this change...
From:

Operate First Community Cloud

The Operate First Community Cloud is a shared environment for Open Source projects and SRE practitioners.

To:

Community Cloud

A Community Cloud is a shared environment for Open
Source projects and SRE A Community Cloud is a shared environment for Open
Source projects and SRE practitioners. An initial Community Cloud, which was established on bare metal hardware
provided by the Mass Open Cloud (MOC), is documented here. It was decommissioned in the spring of 2023 due to lack of
personnel to operate it. Open Source workloads have since moved to various community clusters to continue their work.
At the present time, there is no bare metal cloud where Open Source operations can be vetted. Commitment of resources to
manage such a cloud will be needed for resumption.

thoughts?

cheers,

Hey all,
I wonder if its really about a community gather/learn/... about cloud operations. That is focusing on the current state: How do we... what are the best practices... Can we solve .. using GitOps... ?!

How about: Operate First >> creating the user experience of the supercloud!

The supercloud is the open hybrid cloud we all know, plus all the automation goodies, plus all the new and autonomous operations to come.

And the user experience is important, as we don't want to show of product demos, but we want to influence how future technology is used, how we can leverage all the tech to create benefits for users, may it be the over worked sysadmin, the data scientist that needs to get things done fast, or the intelligent-app developer that needs a cyborg keeping the code and deployment secure.

Would your supercloud make a good second paragraph? I think for the main line and question, keeping them simple
and not introducing a new term makes the page the most accessible to folks that land there. Having an
additional paragraph of link to this supercloud content would be great to add.

Thoughts?

I am working to make a pull request for the two changes I suggested.

 cheers,
  Bill

Ok, here are some initial thoughts on changes needed on the landing page
operate-first.cloud.

The focus needs to change from being community cloud centric.

Change 1
The banner statement currently is "Operate First >> Building an all-Open Source community cloud to learn and make things* better"
How about : Operate FIrst >> Building an open source community for cloud operations"

Change 2
Next the question needs to change from "Why build an all-Open Source community cloud?"
How about: "Why build an open community centered on cloud operations?
The paragraph that follows needs no changes.

Let's start with these 2. Other changes with links will be needed on the main page too.
But let's work on these two first.

I like that emphasis and think those are both good changes.

cheers,
 Bill
